Our Comprehensive Play-Based Curriculum
Learning Beyond Paper includes 52 weeks of developmentally appropriate lessons and more than 4,000 hands-on, play-based activities for Infants through Pre-K 4. Every activity is intentionally designed so children learn through exploration, movement, conversation, creativity, and joyful discovery, while teachers can easily adapt lessons to meet the needs of each child.

Play-Based STEAM & Inquiry Learning
STEAM comes to life through active, play-centered exploration in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Children investigate, experiment, build, and problem-solve in meaningful, real-world contexts — strengthening curiosity, perseverance, and higher-order thinking while having fun.

Research-Based & Classroom-Proven
Developed by experienced early childhood educators, our curriculum reflects current child development research and best practices. Activities emphasize social interaction, exploration, and play as the primary drivers of learning — supporting strong outcomes across developmental domains.

Observational Tools for Meaningful Growth
Formative assessment and play observations are at the heart of understanding children’s progress. Teachers can observe, document, and reflect on children’s play interactions and developmental milestones — then use those insights to intentionally plan next steps. These tools promote individualized learning and stronger partnerships with families.

Professional Development and Educator Support
Professional learning is integrated throughout the curriculum to help teachers strengthen instructional practice and build confidence in the classroom. Each component includes clear guidance, modeling, and implementation support so educators understand not only what to teach, but how and why it matters for children’s growth and development. Through ongoing resources, reflection opportunities, and aligned training content, teachers are supported in delivering high-quality instruction, deepening their expertise, and maintaining consistency across learning environments.

Science of Reading: Integrated Throughout the Day
Our approach to early literacy is grounded in the Science of Reading and delivered through rich, play-based language experiences. Children build strong foundations in:
- Oral language and vocabulary
- Phonological awareness
- Alphabet knowledge
- Comprehension and storytelling
Language is woven into conversations, dramatic play, shared reading, music, small-group work, and everyday routines, ensuring literacy learning happens naturally, joyfully, and with purpose.
Supporting Growth from Infant to Pre-K 4
Learning Beyond was created to provide teachers with thought-provoking lessons and activities for each age group, with the flexibility to support children's learning at every stage.
Infant

Infants grow, change, and discover at an incredible pace during their first year. Every child develops on their own timeline, and Learning Beyond gives teachers the tools to meet each baby right where they are. Every moment is filled with rich sensory exploration, gentle routines, and meaningful interactions that spark early development. At the heart of every experience is a caring relationship that nurtures trust, fosters curiosity, and supports each infant’s unique journey of growth.
Young Toddler

Between 12 and 24 months, young toddlers are full of energy, eager to move, explore, and express themselves as they take early steps toward independence. Learning Beyond provides teachers with engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that meet toddlers at every stage, while offering clear guidance to support each child’s individual growth. With consistent routines, hands-on learning, and relationship-based care, teachers nurture social-emotional skills, language, and growing confidence. Every moment becomes an opportunity to guide discovery, encourage independence, and build strong foundations for learning.
Older Toddler

"I'm 2 now!" From 24 to 36 months, older toddlers grow more independent as they explore, try new things, get messy, and even learn how to clean up. Every choice, behavior, and experience becomes a chance to learn — with logical consequences and supportive guidance helping them build confidence. The “I” is strong as toddlers form friendships, strengthen relationships with teachers and caregivers, and develop more advanced language to express their growing world. Learning Beyond empowers teachers with practical ways to scaffold learning, build knowledge through meaningful interactions, and offer choices that help toddlers grow, explore, and thrive.
Preschool

Three-year-olds are full of curiosity, eager to solve problems, try new ideas, and ask "why" at every turn. Learning Beyond helps teachers serve as strong role models, offering guidance, encouragement, and thoughtful questions as children work through challenges and discoveries. As children stay actively engaged, they build skills across all areas of development while gaining confidence as independent learners. With clear quarterly benchmarks, Learning Beyond keeps teachers focused on meaningful, age-appropriate growth while nurturing joyful, curious learners every day.
Pre-Kindergarten

Four-year-olds build on what they’ve learned, adding new layers of knowledge through hands-on practice, rich experiences, and thoughtful guidance from trusted teachers. As concepts introduced earlier become clearer, children deepen their understanding through repeated exploration, active learning, and meaningful practice. Growing language skills begin to connect to early reading and writing, laying the foundation for kindergarten readiness. With consistent support, scaffolding, and strong relationships, Pre-K children gain confidence, think creatively, and thrive as independent, capable learners in a nurturing and predictable classroom community.
